MDV has a thriving cycling community and we would love you to join us for a ride. All abilities are able to participate and we always like to welcome new riders along. Whether you're completely new to the sport, new to the area or are looking for some riding buddies to give you that extra push, we've got you covered!
Find all the details below of the rides on regular rotation throughout the year. MDV is not a club and as such there is no fee for anyone looking to join a ride.

This is our most popular ride and usually runs from April to September. Leaving from the shop promptly at 6:30pm, this is a 1.5 to 2 hour ride on varying road routes followed by BYOB (Bring your own beer) and pizza to pre order on your return to the shop. On average 40 to 60 attend and are grouped into categories based on average speed so there is always a group to ride with.
Saturday mornings are run all year round where possible. This is a chilled but fast ride averaging 25kph in winter and around 30kph in summer. This ride is not separated into groups and usually covers around 60 to 70km before returning to the shop for some coffee and cake. SMG leaves from the shop at 8:30am.
Should you be working? Taking care of responsibilities? Seeing to something important? Why not go out for a ride on a Wednesday morning instead!
Though not weekly, keep an eye on the Whatsapp group for Wednesday rides, or kick off your own!

Celebrate the longest day with a scenic group ride to the top of Ditchling Beacon!
This is a fun and non-competitive ride and is a great way to enjoy the summer solstice with mates and mates soon to be made.
Beginning and ending at the shop, this ride starts between 3:00 and 5:30pm in groups of 2 to 6. Details of the 2025 Solstice ride to follow.
Keep an eye on the Whatsapp group for information on upcoming one off rides. You can look forward to Demo Days from top brands, join us on a charity ride or maybe even a gathering with one of cyclings big names!
In 2024 MDV staff and customers raised over £14000 for Myeloma, we went gravel riding with 3T and Ed Clancy paid us a visit, taking everyone out on a ride around box hill.
2025 brought us demo days with Scott and Pearson as well as amazing group rides with both Ed Clancy and Paolo Bettini.
Get your sleigh bells jingling for our Christmas Joy Ride in every year in mid December. Leaving from Maison du Velo at around 10:30am and riding to our sister store InGear in Forest Row and back again.
This is a fun grouped ride with groups A, B and C on a 70km route and group D on an 55 to 60km route. After you've burned off all those mince pies, you can fill your bellies with a scrummy bowl of chilli and a beer or two back at MDV. Merry cycling!
