1904rt is a women’s race team, with riders based in Surrey, Sussex, Kent, and London. The outfit exists to provide women in the South of England with the team mates and support needed to progress to racing at National level. Our goal is to grow the grassroots women’s racing scene, one confident, competitive racer at a time. A progression from the Norwood Paragon women’s race team, the team is supported by the 1904 founded club, which meets for weekly rides at Reigate’s Maison du Velo bike shop.
“Many cycling clubs within Surrey and surrounding counties have strong memberships, but only one or two female racers. The nature of women’s racing means that women often find themselves travelling further for races, and these factors combined can culminate to limit enthusiasm for the sport. 1904rt is about combating that by creating a fun and supportive, but competitive, environment - and I’m thrilled that Maison du Velo, InGear and Norwood Paragon are on board to help us once more in 2022.”
Michelle Arthurs-Brennan | 1904rt Manager
The team will once again target the British Women’s Cup, these National B level races provide a stepping stone between regional races,
and the HSBC National Series events.
